Burnham Patient Participation Group provides volunteer-run communication links between the health centre and the patient community
- To improve provision for the patients
- To promote health and wellbeing in the community
During 2021, the PPG supported the Covid vaccinations.
Activities
Publicise the services available to patients
- By holding workshops around the village
- By other methods such as digital media, leaflets, posters, ‘Round and About’
Promote national and local health campaigns
Cooperate with Burnham Health Promotion Trust promoting health and wellbeing in the community
Conduct targeted surveys of patients, and work with the health centre on implementing improvements
Support the health centre with non-medical activities
Share good practice through networking with the PPG network and Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) activities
Organisation
- Chair – elected from the Patient Participation Group – Carol Linton
- Health Centre representative – Michelle Sage
- Core members – up to 9 patients, elected from the wider membership
- PPG members – any registered patient of BHC over 16 years
Full Meetings – quarterly, attended by
- a Burnham Health Centre management representative,
- a medical representative,
- a Burnham Health Promotion Trust (BHPT) representative
- core members of PPG
Interim meetings – as, when and where required
- core members of the PPG
- others required to progress the agenda
